Head Chef Vacancy

(Full Time) £33,000 - £39,000 package (per annum)

Short term live-in accommodation may be available (to assist with relocation)

An amazing opportunity to lead a small but perfectly formed kitchen brigade in our recently refurbished boutique hotel in the heart of Lancashire and the gateway to the Lake District. (Recently awarded a five star rating for our guest accommodation and also the outstanding Gold Award by VisitEngland) The New Inn, Yealand has developed a great reputation both locally and with our visiting guests for quality service and offers a first-class restaurant with 38 covers and outside dining space, cosy bar and 7 boutique guest rooms. We take pride in our intimate surroundings and service style, where our guests arrive as a customer and leave as a friend!

Our restaurant here at the New Inn, Yealand offers one of the finest dining experiences, located in the North Lancashire area. Offering modern British gastropub and grill dishes, all our dishes are freshly prepared, using locally sourced seasonal produce. We’re looking for a Head Chef with passion and flair to deliver this consistency to our discerning guests.

With exciting times ahead, The New Inn, Yealand is scheduled for future investment and development, including 4 additional luxury suites, a new 50 cover restaurant and full kitchen refit scheduled within the next 18 months, it couldn’t be a better time to join our senior team and be instrumental part in the growth of the business!.

Now with the extra requirements to keep our team and customers safe from risk of COVID 19, this role plays a key part in building customer confidence.

What we’re looking for from you

You’ll be one of the many reasons our guests will continue to return, by creating mouth-watering dishes to tempt the senses!

Be comfortable managing your small team of chefs, striving to improve efficiencies and developing their talents too!

Have the ability to collaborate with other senior chefs within the group at our other properties, in order to share best practices.

Familiar with the principles of supply chain management, procurement and principles of P&L, and recognise your role in supporting the overall financial performance of the business.

Have relevant culinary qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

Be in possession of a current Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 or above).

Have previous experience as a Head or Sous Chef and a background in a similar operation (serving Contemporary British Gastropub Food).

The ability to work a variety of shifts with a flexible approach to working hours to suit the needs of the business.
